By Road

From the west, travel along the M8, and then turn left onto the city by-pass.  Continue for 1.5 miles along the by-pass to its end, and then turn right along the A8 towards the city centre.  After passing the Zoo, turn left up Ellersly Road at traffic lights, and then left again into Kinellan Road.   The narrow entrance to McNeil House is on the left after a short distance.

From the north, cross the Forth Road Bridge, and continue towards Edinburgh for about five miles.  On reaching Barnton Roundabout, go straight ahead, through the traffic lights, then take the first right, over Drumbrae to Corstorphine Road then left at the roundabout to reach Ellersly Road.

For any other route, it is simplest to follow the by-pass round to the west of the city, and then follow the route in along the A8 as above.

For rail users, Haymarket railway station is close by.  Railway timetables can be found at The Trainline website.   Buses 12, 26, 31 and 86 to and from Edinburgh city centre pass close by.
